Just an update

I just realized that I have not posted anything in awhile so I just decided to give an update. We are all doing well. I have been entertaining everyone lately with speeding around the house and dropping my Kong toy by moms feet.

I will say that the squirrel that visits daily in the yard has been a blast to chase after. I think he waits for me until I get a few feet away and then he hauls it up the fence. Usually he'll just sit there flagging his tail at me and going nan nan nan nan nah. OOOOhhh! One of these days he's going to be a little too slow. Well I say that but mom screams at me whenever I run after him. I think she likes him more than me.

Junior and I like to bark at the fence to our friend next door Riley. Talk about a loud time. I just love it. The grass isn't looking so good over by the fence in fact it's kind of muddy after it rains.
Too bad. We love to antagonize Riley.

Well I really don't have much else to say. Sonny has been doing fairly well. I must say I am jealous with the amount of food and goodies he gets over what I get. Mom says if I ate as much as him I'd be fat, but he needs the stuff to keep his sugar up. What ever that is. Well I'm glad he's still around to play with anyway. OK I think it's time to get back to chewing my bone.

I just thought I would up date you on my brothers conditions. Buddy has been his old self again, running around and chasing me around the house. I like that.
Sonny is doing good. He hasn't had any seizures since he started the prednisone and eating more frequently. I'm kind of jealous that he gets to eat so much. But then again he's so skinny lately. You can tell that he still isn't his old self but I guess we are all happy that he is still here with us. We will take everyday we can get because we love him. I guess for all it's worth he has been doing fairly well.
Mom hasn't checked his blood sugar lately. She figures as long as he acts good and doesn't have any seizures who cares what the number is. I think I agree with that. He's still my older brother.
If anyone has any experience with insulinomas in dogs I'm sure my mom would like to hear about what you know. Thanks for the help. And thanks for the prayers.

Sick Brothers Sonny and Buddy

I feel really bad that I haven't told you about what's been going on in a long time. It has been very hectic around the house. My older brothers Sonny and Buddy were very sick. I hated to see them go to the doctors so much and one night both were not home and I got so upset that I didn't eat. It turns out that Sonny was having seizures. He almost died because his seizures it turned out were from his blood sugar going very low. After numerous tests and what mom says a ___ load of money the doctor found out that he has a pancreatic tumor that is over producing insulin. They tell me that is why his blood sugar was so low and he kept having seizures. They have him on prednisone now and held off doing any surgery. Right now he has been pretty much back to normal on the medicine. What a relief that is. Though we don't know for how long it will continue to work. I hope it works a very long time.
Buddy had pancreatitis. Wow both of them had a pancreas problem. I still wonder where is that pancreas. He needed to go to the doctors everyday for a week I think it was to get fluids. They wouldn't let him eat anything. Not even drink water. He also was getting some pretty strong pain medicine. He seems to be eating well lately. I really missed him when he wasn't around the house. He's my best Buddy. I sure hope that neither of them get sick again like that. Especially for poor moms sake. She was a basket case. I am happy that things are getting back to normal.

Another Training lesson WHAT!!

OK so now what is my mom up to??? I thought that all this being a good boy was paying off.
So I bark every time she's on the phone. I thought that's what you're suppose to do when you have a phone call....talk!
Well I wonder if this new lesson will work. I am going to have to be a very good student so she'll stop trying all these programs.

If you want to be a good dog too, you may want to try this new program. Or even the last. I wonder when I get to graduate??

New training

Well I guess that I will have to start behaving myself. Looks like a new training guide is on the way to get me to do the things mommy wants me to do. Oh but I do like that one corner in the morning before anyone gets up. I really don't want to give it up. I wonder if there's a way around this new training. What do you think???

Oh no mom just found a new website that talks all about training for dog especially little ones like me. I don't know but just the word obedience sounds scarey. I really like to run away from her when she calls to me. I play a game of chase and now she thinks that this will stop my game??? I don't know but I think I may have to read and listen to all the information before she does so I can know what's coming.

If you are another doggy than I think you may want to get this before your mom does. I would be a little worried too if she gets the information first.

Finally some rain

How wonderful the smell of the fresh rain is tonight. I would like to go and play in it but the loud noise that it is making outside scares me. I do think that it will do my play area some good. I am tired of walking on grass that is brown and like straw. It has been awhile since we have had some good rain. Lately all we have had is icky smelling smoke from the burning trees and grass. I sure hope that that will be the end of that now that the rain has come.

I think in a week we get something called Hurricane season. I don't know much about it but I am told that some years the weather is not so nice. I hope that the weather stays nice this year. I know that my mom is a little nervous about the Hurricane season. I guess I will wait and see.

My visit with the doctor

I guess I did OK at the doctors office the other day. It was the ride over there that really got me. I threw up in the car. Not once but 2 times on the way there and once on the way home. It's a good thing I was in my crate. I don't think I like riding in the car. I also didn't like that stuff the doctor pushed up my nose. Some kind of vaccine he said. It made me sneeze a lot. After I got back home I slept it all off. I think that made me feel much better. I sure am glad that I only have to go get a "check up" once a year. Someone told me that when you get older you may have to go more offen. Yuck.

Well I am now telling my mom that I want a cookie. In fact we are all barking at her to give us cookies! but she is ignoring us. I guess we will continue to bark.

Waiting to go to the vets

It's that time of year again where I have to go and get my shots. Ouch!! Whoever thought of that stuff? I don't understand what that is all about. Why do I need to go and get poked and prodded? I love my mom but her thought of a day out is not that fun. I always seem to get carsick on the way to the doctors. I wonder why that happens. Maybe I should ask the doctor about that, oh I wonder if he would ever understand. Not being a dog.
I guess I will just have to grin and bear it. Wish me luck.

Happy 14th Birthday Junior

The 30th is my big brother Juniors 14th birthday. I am so excited for him. It's not everyday that you turn 14. You know that is 98 in human years. My I didn't realize how much older than me he is. He still loves to run around and play with me. Of course he has slowed down since his knee injury. But even running on 3 legs he's faster than me. OK so not quiet that fast but he still is quick.





I wonder what mom has in store for his birthday. I hope she buys him a nice new stuffed toy.....they're my favorite and I'm sure he won't mind sharing. The rabbits are all gutless now and I have even removed some legs. They surely won't be getting away any time soon.





I think I should get my big brother a present buy I am not sure what to get him. What do you get an old dog. I have been told you can't get them new tricks or is it you can't teach them new tricks. Oh well. Help me think of a present please. Thanks.

Aren't we all so cute. Sonny and Buddy are Juniors kids. I think they all look alike except that Buddy is black and white like me. I love them all.

Busy chewing up Easter Bunnies

I can't believe how long it's been since I have written. I feel very bad about that. I have been busy with the new Bunny soft animal chews my mom bought me. Yummy. I can't believe how good they are to eat up and take the stuffing out. I got that squeaky thing out of it's gut before you could count to 100. OK maybe it was 200 but I know I am the speed king for getting toys opened and stuffing all over the floor. My brothers don't come close to my forte at destroying toys. OK Buddy may occasionally destroy a toy but very rare these days. I guess being a puppy or thinking like one still has it's advantage. Poor mom she keeps picking up the white stuff. I hear her say something under her breath but just can't make it out. Well back to the carpet I have been chewing on.

Those green bones

I don't know about you but I have found that those green bones are sooooooo tasty. My brothers and I just love them. If mom didn't give us them all at the same time I think we would have a major rumble. I don't know what's in them but I sure do like to chew them up and fast. I think mom should buy the larger ones because the petite ones she's been getting just go too fast. I wonder who else likes these things? Well keep on chewing.

My big brother Junior

I just thought I'd tell you about my big brother Junior. He's going to be 14 in 2 months and boy does he have the experiences over me. He use to be top dog in the family. That means he was the boss. Now though he has relinquished his crown to Buddy. I'm not too sure why since Buddy has no teeth. But I guess he decided he was getting old and needed to step down. He recently hurt his back knee and now walks on 3 legs a lot. But he's still a blast to play with. Of course he does like to growl at me a lot. Usually when I'm giving him kisses. I think he's a great big brother.

I have 3 older papillion brothers who kind of help me out. And then there's my human brother who's 9. I sometimes have contests with him on who can make the bigger mess.
